School books

Our civic association has helped pay school-fee and buy books for a student from a socially weaker family.

Our help was requested by an NGO called Člověk v tísni Slovensko. They wished to help this nice young lady, whose situation they knew about, to fulfill her desire for quality education.

We believe that our help was an encouragement for Rut towards further education, so she will prove to herself that she holds her life in her own hands and with education, she can improve it.

“I’m very thankful that you helped me pay my tuition. Without your help, I would have definitely not been able to make it into fourth grade. In this grade, I have started improving and my teachers are satisfied as well. After the school ends, I would like to go to work. I will try my best to get a good job position. I really honor you, because it’s hard to find people like you. In the future, if someone will be in a similar situation like I am in now, I would be more than happy to help in whatever way, because education is the most important thing. I am writing to you because I am a girl from a ghetto who is nothing in this world, but I will try with all my might, for my future children to not grow up where I did. During the holiday I had a part-time job, to earn money for my prom. It was quite hard, but I managed to save up some money even though it’s not enough. Still, I believe I will manage somehow. Once again, thank you.”

The letter we have received didn’t just delight us, but also reassured us, that the support we have given them was really meaningful.

‘’I’m incredibly happy, that you have helped me with my scholarship these past years. There have been times where I wanted to give it all up, but now I’m slowly coming to a finish. I’ve already completed the writing part of my graduation exam and I’m hoping that it will end up as successfully as possible. I also owe a huge thank you to your Organization, since you bring hope to the kids who seem to be done for. Me and my whole family are very thankful to you. You know very well, that I’m a girl from a slum, that has no an unstable background, but I continue to hope that my children will live a more fortunate life than me. One day, after I finish my school I would love to help some child the way you’ve helped me. We’re praying for you and I hope that God can one day repay you hundredfold for everything you have done for me. I am very happy, that I had the chance to meet you.
