Patients advisory service

Mission Life makes regular financial contributions to Slovak association for oncology and psychology.

The funds are devoted for psychological advisory services and short-term therapy for oncology patients and their close relatives, who are in material need.

We believe, that a positive psychological perspective is one of the key attributes during a treatment for cancer. We are glad, that we were able to help with creating better conditions for those, who are battling cancer.

“Over a year ago, my husband decided that it would be best if he put an end to our 30-year relationship and left. It left me in total shock. It was incomparably worse, than when I was diagnosed with a stomach carcinoma in its fourth stage. I had a feeling, that I wouldn’t overcome his retreat in psychological, physical or financial means. I am eligible for disability pension after a full gastrectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I am fully reliant on artificial nutrition and after vertebral fracture and spinal deformity, I have to live with limited mobility. I have lost my health, my husband and my job in a very short time period. It seemed like my life has lost its meaning. That was the time when I contacted psychologist Mária Andrašiová.
She promised me, that she will guide me through the toughest and saddest times. And she met her promise. I can remember how I was crying during our first session. And even more, when she offered me a chance to skip on the payment of the first five sessions, which would be financially covered by Mission Life. It truly moved me, and it was a big helping hand for me! Mária mentored me through my worst times, and she was of great help to me. I’m deeply grateful for her empathy and support. It bolstered me immensely. Today, I look at everything without self-pity or bitterness. To all, who are desperate, I can only recommend speaking out about their problems and didn’t hesitate to contact an expert for advice. Considering not everyone can afford such a service, it is even more special, if someone can have the beginning paid for.”

“During the time I was dealing with my health and mental difficulties, I seeked help from a psychotherapist Maria Andrašiova. I have two kids; which health conditions require considerable financial expenses towards enzymes, vitamins and therapies in specialized clinic, which we have to fully cover. Since the kids always come at the first place, I always postponed the need for self-care. I was advised for therapies twice a month, what I couldn’t handle financially. What really helped me, was the option of not having to pay for every second session, which was fully covered by Mission Life. I would like to express my gratitude for having paid for four therapies. Without this help, I would once again need to interrupt the treatment due to the lack of finance. This way, | could continue to attend the session twice a month for half a year, which resulted in my mental health having significantly improved. It was a great help for me. Thank you Ingrid.
